Farmland CEO Sees No Constraints to REIT’s Growth

Paul Pittman, executive chairman, president and CEO of Farmland Partners Inc. (NYSE: FPI), joined for a CEO Spotlight video interview during REITWeek 2015: NAREIT’s Investor Forum, held in New York.

Farmland Properties, which invests in primary row crop farmland throughout North America, became a stock exchange-listed REIT in 2014. At the time of its initial public offering, its portfolio contained 7,300 acres. That has grown to more than 70,000 acres today.

W.P. Carey Tax Director Says Resource Constraints a Challenge for REITs

Adam Cohen, executive director of tax at W.P. Carey Inc. (NYSE: WPC), joined for a video interview during REITWise 2015: NAREIT’s Law, Accounting and Finance Conference held in Phoenix.

Cohen noted that one of the main challenges facing REIT tax directors concerns resource constraints.

“There are a lot of demands placed on the tax department, and we’re becoming increasingly integrated with the accounting and finance functions, but we don’t have enough people,” he said.
