Drew Alexander, president and CEO of Weingarten Realty (NYSE:WRI), joined REIT.com for a CEO Spotlight video interview at REITWorld 2015: NAREIT’s Annual Convention for All Things REIT at the Wynn Las Vegas.

Alexander elaborated on the meaning behind the title of a recent investor presentation, Goodbye Kansas, Hello Hollywood.

Kite Realty CEO Sees REITs Focusing on Redevelopment

John Kite, CEO of Kite Realty Group Trust (NYSE: KRG), joined REIT.com for a CEO Spotlight video interview at REITWorld 2015: NAREIT’s Annual Convention for All Things REIT at the Wynn Las Vegas.

Between late 2014 and early 2015, Kite Realty sold about $ 320 million of properties that it had acquired through the 2014 merger with Inland Diversified Real Estate Trust, Inc.  Kite noted that about $ 220 million of the proceeds went toward purchasing properties, while $ 100 million was earmarked to reduce leverage.

InvenTrust Focusing on Retail and Student Housing Real Estate

With a new name and a pared-down portfolio, InvenTrust Properties Corp. plans to continue to shed assets as it narrows its focus down to its two primary sectors of open air retail and student housing real estate.

InvenTrust announced in April that it was changing its name from Inland American Real Estate Trust, Inc., after becoming self-managed in 2014. The name change also followed the spin-off of its Xenia Hotels & Resorts, Inc. (NYSE: XHR) lodging platform in February.

Hannon Armstrong makes debt and equity investments in sustainable infrastructure projects. Clark explained that every investment the company makes is focused on the carbon-reduction benefit achieved by its clients. “This is core to our company,” she said.
