Stephen Schmitz, chairman and CEO of American Residential Properties (NYSE: ARPI), and Laurie Hawkes, the company’s president and COO, joined REIT.com for a video interview during REITWeek 2015: NAREIT’s Investor Forum, held in New York.

American Residential Properties acquires, renovates, leases and manages single-family properties across 13 states.

Schmitz discussed whether the company continues to see acquisitions as the most important generator of strategic value.

InvenTrust Properties CEO says REIT Focused on Refining Operations

Thomas McGuinness, president and CEO of InvenTrust Properties Corp., joined REIT.com for a CEO Spotlight video interview during REITWeek 2015: NAREIT’s Investor Forum, held in New York.

InvenTrust is a public non-listed REIT that focuses on open air retail and student housing real estate. The company became self-managed last year, spun off its lodging platform in February and adopted a new name in April. InvenTrust was formerly known as Inland American Real Estate Trust, Inc.

Home Properties Agrees to $7.6 Billion Sale to Private Equity Firm

Multifamily REIT Home Properties, Inc. (NYSE: HME) said June 22 that it has agreed to be purchased by an affiliate of Lone Star Funds, a global private equity firm, in a deal valued at approximately $ 7.6 billion including debt.

Home Properties also said it agreed to contribute a portfolio of up to six properties containing up to 3,246 units to multifamily REIT UDR, Inc. (NYSE: UDR) in exchange for a combination of cash and newly issued units in a newly-formed subsidiary of UDR.

Easterly Government Properties Adjusting to Life as Public REIT

William Trimble, president and CEO of Easterly Government Properties (NYSE: DEA), joined REIT.com for a CEO Spotlight video interview during REITWeek 2015: NAREIT’s Investor Forum, held in New York.

Easterly acquires, develops and manages class-A commercial properties that are leased to government agencies primarily through the General Services Administration (GSA). The company focuses on newer, purpose-built space.  Its current portfolio contains 30 buildings, all of which are 100 percent leased.
