Lee Hall was completed in 1958 is named after Rudolph E. Lee who graduated from Clemson in 1896. Lee went on to become a Professor of Drawing & Design as well the Head of the Architecture Department. Currently, the original structure and the 1970 addition house the architecture, art, city and regional planning, real estate development, landscape architecture and construction management disciplines, as well as the new interdisciplinary doctoral program in planning, design and the built environment. Lee Hall will soon be renovated and expanded to give students and faculty more space to learn and grow. The plans for the renovation and expansion include a geothermal system to help generate natural ventilation and a green roof — a method of rooftop gardening — to enhance insulation and environmental benefits.
