Physicians Realty Trust is a medical office building REIT, primarily focused on leasing properties to doctors, hospital outpatient services, and healthcare delivery systems.
Sukanya Paciorek, senior vice president of corporate sustainability at Vornado Realty Trust (NYSE: VNO), joined REIT.com for a video interview at NAREIT’s 2015 Leader in the Light Working Forum in Reston, Va.
Vornado, which was a 2014 Leader in the Light award winner, focuses on the New York and Washington, D.C., office markets, as well as New York street retail.
Paciorek discussed Vornado’s approach to sustainability and offered suggestions for companies wishing to improve their sustainability profile.

Corey Lee was born in Seoul, Korea in 1977. The son of an engineer, he moved to the US in 1983 when his father’s work relocated him to New York City. Being an immigrant, the food his mother cooked became the most important and tangible link to Corey’s native culture. And so at an early age, he realized that food occupied an important role in society, one more significant than just sustenance, and he became acutely interested in the different kinds of cuisine he encountered. At age 17, in need of a job and at the random suggestion of a friend, he applied for work at the Bromberg brothers’ popular restaurant, Blue Ribbon Sushi in New York’s SOHO area. He was hired for the dining room but immediately became fascinated by the unique world of the professional kitchen, an environment he found to challenge and gratify both the mind and body on many different levels. He quickly started working in the kitchen and soon realized that cooking would be his profession. Since that almost accidental beginning to Corey’s career, he has gone on to work for some of the most acclaimed restaurants and chefs in the world. Interesting and unusual building designs from different parts of the world.’ THE HUNDERTWASSER BUILDING – Friedensreich Hundertwasser, an Austrian architect and painter, designed this building, which contains 105 apartments and a restaurant. HABITAT67 – This apartment building was built for Expo 67, the 1967 world exhibition held in Canada. Although Habitat 67 was supposed to provide affordable housing after the Expo ended—much like the stated plans for Vancouver’s Olympic Village— its apartments go for luxury apartment prices because of the unique architecture. CONTAINER CITY – The Urban Space Management company designs various Container Cities like this one for use as homes, offices and stores. THE CROOKED HOUSE – The Crooked House is located in a shopping center. Built in 2003, the house is used for commercial purposes. BASKET BUILDING – This building is the home office of the Longaberger Company, which sells baskets. KANSAS CITYS LIBRARY – This funky building is the parking garage for Kansas City’s Central Library.
