Bruce Duncan, president and CEO of First Industrial Realty Trust (NYSE: FR), joined REIT.com for a CEO Spotlight video interview during REITWeek 2014: NAREIT’s Investor Forum, held in New York.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of First Industrial being listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Duncan discussed the significance of this milestone.
Returns on equity REITs far outpaced gains seen in the broader market during the first quarter of 2014, and analysts expect solid fundamentals to continue to support the sector.
Total returns for the FTSE NAREIT Equity REITs Index gained just under 10 percent in the first quarter, compared with the 1.8 percent gain seen in the S&P 500 Index in the same period. Gains for the FTSE NAREIT All REITs Index stood at 8.6 percent in the first quarter.
REIT returns softened in March compared with the first two months of the year.
Google seems to be fully integrating “Places”into the search engine results page. This changes what needs to get top rankings and reduces the real estate available on the first page.

Lee Hall was completed in 1958 is named after Rudolph E. Lee who graduated from Clemson in 1896. Lee went on to become a Professor of Drawing & Design as well the Head of the Architecture Department. Currently, the original structure and the 1970 addition house the architecture, art, city and regional planning, real estate development, landscape architecture and construction management disciplines, as well as the new interdisciplinary doctoral program in planning, design and the built environment.
