CatchMark Timber CEO Sees REIT’s Acquisition Activity Higher in Second Half

Jerry Barag, president and CEO of CatchMark Timber Trust, Inc. (NYSE: CTT), joined REIT.com for a CEO Spotlight video interview during REITWeek 2015: NAREIT’s Investor Forum, held in New York.

Barag began the interview with an overview of the company’s acquisition activity. He noted that the first half of 2015 has been quite different from 2014. Whereas 2014 saw a steady stream of medium-sized deals, the first half of 2015 has seen either very large deals or very small ones.

Farmland CEO Sees No Constraints to REIT’s Growth

Paul Pittman, executive chairman, president and CEO of Farmland Partners Inc. (NYSE: FPI), joined REIT.com for a CEO Spotlight video interview during REITWeek 2015: NAREIT’s Investor Forum, held in New York.

Farmland Properties, which invests in primary row crop farmland throughout North America, became a stock exchange-listed REIT in 2014. At the time of its initial public offering, its portfolio contained 7,300 acres. That has grown to more than 70,000 acres today.

Duke Realty Sees Solid Fundamentals in Industrial, Medical Office Portfolios

Denny Oklak, chairman and CEO of Duke Realty Corp. (NYSE: DRE), joined REIT.com for a CEO Spotlight video interview during REITWeek 2015: NAREIT’s Investor Forum, held in New York.

With bulk distribution facilities now making up more than 70 percent of Duke’s portfolio, Oklak provided an overview of industrial market fundamentals.

“The industrial business is really very good at this time,” he said. Oklak noted that Duke’s in-service occupancy rates within its bulk industrial portfolios are at almost 97 percent.

Bob Connolly, finance professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, joined REIT.com for a video interview during REITWeek 2015: NAREIT’s Investor Forum, held in New York.

Connolly presented research at the NAREIT/ American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association (AREUEA) Real Estate Research Conference, which was held the day before the start of REITWeek.

Connolly addressed the question of whether investors in REIT index products can assume efficient market pricing.

Newly Listed REIT Global Net Lease Sees Untapped Opportunities in Europe

Global Net Lease, Inc. (NYSE: GNL), which began trading on the New York Stock Exchange June 2, plans to increase its exposure to European net lease assets by taking advantage of the current supply-and-demand imbalance in the region.

Formerly known as AR Capital Global Trust, Inc., Global Net Lease is a REIT focused on sale-leaseback properties in the United States and Europe. Its portfolio of more than 300 assets is located across five countries and includes 79 tenants and 35 industries.
