How is the title tag written? Which keywords are in the URL? You can also see how many inbound links your competitors have. Bing Adds Links Report, Google Ranking Update & Yahoo Dying Slowly – This week at the Search Engine Roundtable, we covered that Bing added the links reports back to Bing Webmaster Tools. There may be a small ranking update happening at Google. Google reaffirmed that the Google Toolbar PageRank data is not worth looking at. Google now shows doorway pages alerts and warnings in Google Webmaster Tools. Google News has slowed the time it takes to get approved for the remainder of the year. Google is looking to do contextual discovery. Google got some bad anti-competitive PR this week in the Wall Street Journal. Yahoo Site Explorer Dead?, Google PageRank Update & New AdWords Preview Tool – This week at the Search Engine Roundtable I cover a nice amount of topics, I wanted to highlight the most important items. First, Yahoo Site Explorer has dropped out a ton of the links, Yahoo is saying it is Microsoft’s fault. Google did a PageRank update for some. Google is testing a new AdWords Preview Tool, check it out. Advertisers are seeing huge spikes in cost per click costs since the Yahoo and adCenter migration. Google may have stopped indexing Blogspot domains. Google might not wipe out your old links after a reconsideration request, but you should submit one when you buy a new domain and there is no way to cancel it. Google Instant, Bing #2, PageRank update, Twitter & More – I missed last week’s recap, so I covered two weeks in this single recap. Google Farmer Update, Overstock Penalized, Bing’s Facebook Likes & Mobile SEO – Busy week in search, yet again. Google released their second of two algorithm updates, this one targets ‘content farms.’ Overstock was penalized by Google for a neat link building technique. Bing integrated the Facebook Likes data even more deeply into the search results. Google documented more on mobile SEO best practices and I summed up the key points. Google added recipes to the left side bar, it is driven by rich snippets. Google is more likely to now change your title tag. Should you host your images on your site or on a social image site?
